Searching La Salle County Civil Dockets
When you know or expect a district civil hearing date, one stop comes first. That is the 81st/218th docket index. Look for the La Salle County code LASA. Then pick a civil PDF marked CV. It opens a public setting list, and no login is needed. Treat it as a schedule, not the full civil file.
Registered users can also try re:SearchTX Court Records Search. The official guide walks through Cases and Hearings searches. Quick and Advanced modes, sorting, export, and a document cart are covered too. Fields and La Salle County integration change. Trust the controls on the screen.
Need an older pleading, judgment, or certified copy? Contact the County/District Clerk by phone, email, fax, or in person. Ask first whether mail or a public terminal will work. No single workflow fits every request.
- Identify whether the matter belongs to district, County, JP, municipal, or child-protection court.
- For a district setting, open the docket index and locate the LASA civil PDF.
- Record the docket number, case type, date filed, reason set, and setting comment.
- Check re:SearchTX for electronic details or documents if available.
- Request the filed or certified record from the custodian clerk.
La Salle Civil Appearance Docket
The official La Salle County sample is a civil appearance docket. Its filename carries LASA-CV. The header names the court, county, setting date, and run date. That header matters. Saved reports age quickly. A reset, ruling, or cancellation may never reach a copy already downloaded.
As a schedule-finding tool, the appearance docket earns its keep. It lists the formal case style and filing date. It also gives the category, the reason the case is set, and a brief setting comment. Counsel-role columns may appear as well. It will not list every filed pleading. It will not show what happened after the setting. For the complete file and certified copies, call the La Salle County/District Clerk.
Inside a La Salle County Civil Docket
The sample inventory separates classification from schedule. “Case Type” labels what kind of civil matter the court recorded, while “Reason Set” states the current calendar purpose. “Setting Comm” may carry a short court note. When the real question is a final order, no single column answers it.
| Docket No. | The local court case identifier used for follow-up. |
|---|---|
| Style of Case | The formal case caption, which may contain party names. |
| Date Filed | The date the civil action entered the clerk record. |
| Case Type | The recorded category, such as a tax matter or family case. |
| Reason Set | Why the matter has been placed on that docket. |
| Setting Comm | A court comment such as TAX SUIT, TEMP ORDERS, RESET, or DWOP. |
| Plt Atty / Def Atty | Counsel-role fields, not a statement about who prevailed. |
Just because the court PDF is public does not mean private party data should be copied around. Cite a case number and neutral field descriptions when explaining the La Salle County civil docket.
La Salle Civil Setting Labels
Local setting text is terse. It often reveals more about the day's work than the broad case type does. Read each label alongside the reason set, hearing date, and any later clerk entries.
- TAX SUIT
- A setting comment observed in the official civil sample.
- TEMP ORDERS
- A temporary-orders setting, not the final merits ruling.
- RESET
- A hearing moved from an earlier setting.
- DWOP
- A dismissal-docket label; it should not be reported as a dismissal without the resulting order.
- CV
- The broad civil category used in district calendar and file names.
A label shows what the court planned to consider. It proves nothing about what happened. Check the later docket or request the signed order when the result is what matters.
Civil Case Types on the Docket
The La Salle County district-clerk verification spans civil, family, and juvenile categories. The constitutional County Court handles county-level civil, juvenile, and probate work. Justice courts hear smaller civil claims within their statutory authority. The Child Protection Court uses its own Texas date-based docket channel. Which court holds a custody record? It depends on where that matter was heard.
| Matter | Likely record route | Access caution |
|---|---|---|
| District civil | 81st/218th PDF, re:SearchTX, County/District Clerk | PDF is not the complete file |
| County civil or probate | County/District Clerk and County Court | Confirm the case category |
| JP civil claim | The named Justice of the Peace precinct | Precinct records remain separate |
| Family or juvenile | District clerk or named court | Restricted and sensitive material may be withheld |
| Child protection | Child Protection Court portal and clerk | Date list is not a full file search |
La Salle County has no county court at law. So do not push every civil issue to the district PDF just because that schedule is the easiest one to find online.
La Salle Hearing PDF Versus File
A docket PDF and a civil case file answer different questions. The PDF says when a matter was listed. It also shows how the court classified it and why it was set. The file is where the substance lives. Petitions, answers, motions, notices, signed orders, judgments, and clerk entries sit there. Access limits still apply.
| Question | Docket PDF | Complete clerk file |
|---|---|---|
| When is the setting? | Often shown | May appear in notices or entries |
| Why is it set? | Reason Set or Setting Comm | Motion and scheduling records add context |
| What was filed? | Not a complete index | Filed pleadings and orders, if public |
| Is the copy certified? | No | Certification can be requested |
For search mechanics beyond a hearing list, see the La Salle County case lookup. A document missing online can simply mean the system lacks integration or remote access. It does not mean the filing never existed.
Civil Docket Settings and Hearings
La Salle County district civil settings live inside the shared 81st/218th calendar. The annual calendar lists county and event codes. Weekly docket PDFs show the actual settings. Court starts at 9:00 a.m. under the request-setting instructions. The notice and docket entry for your matter always control.
A requested non-jury setting is not on the La Salle County civil docket right away. It appears only after the coordinator sends an accepted confirmation email. The workflow calls for checking the calendar and coordinating with opposing counsel. “NO MORE SETTINGS” flags a full day. Treat it as closed even if the date still shows on a PDF. Resets and temporary-order settings can shift the next step without ending the civil case. Confirm any time-sensitive date with the coordinator or clerk. The coordinator phone is (830) 769-3750.

Give the court, docket number, document, date range, format, and certification choice.
Fees for civil copies in Texas come from Government Code §51.3033. A certified paper copy runs $5 for the certificate or seal plus $1 per page. Noncertified paper pages cost $1 each. Electronic copies follow rules tied to page count. A $5 search fee applies when you request copies without a docket number. Ask the clerk for the current total and accepted payment methods, since the county's linked 2022 cost PDF may no longer reflect the schedule.
Note: A narrow request that includes the docket number cuts delay and helps you avoid mistaking a fee schedule PDF for the actual civil record you need.
Civil Docket Access Rules
Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 76a starts from a simple premise. Court records are presumed open. Sealing is possible, but only after the showing and procedure the rule spells out. So La Salle County civil court records are public. They stay subject to sealing orders, other rules, and statutes. Added protection can attach to family, juvenile, child-protection, protective-order, medical, and financial material. Anything involving a minor gets it too.
Texas access rules: Rule 76a governs sealing of civil court records, while Rule 21c addresses sensitive-data redaction.
Judicial records within Rule 12 use that rule’s process; county administrative records may instead use the Texas Public Information Act and county GovQA route.
Under Rule 21c, some data counts as sensitive. Birth dates and home addresses qualify. So do driver-license and passport numbers, tax and Social Security identifiers, financial account data, and the names of minors. Finding a matter in a public La Salle County civil docket does not erase your duty to handle that information with care. Sealed or restricted material may never reach the internet. And remember that a blank search does not prove no civil case exists.
La Salle Electronic Civil Documents
re:SearchTX can show case details, hearing details, and documents when the record is integrated and available remotely. Items may move into a cart. Payment may be required. Check pricing and access inside the service itself rather than relying on older guidance as a rate card.
The Hill Country Case System, or HCSS, is the case-management system identified for the La Salle district clerk. That does not put every older civil record online. eFileTexas handles statewide filing. But an e-filing channel is not the same as open public record access. For an aging file or an official copy, the clerk remains the fallback.
Note: Confirm the case number against the newest docket. Then, before paying, ask whether the electronic document may not answer your question.
